Wednesday evening will be a night at leisure, providing an opportunity for delegates to connect with each other on their own terms. Informal socialising leads to meaningful conversations and connections that more structured functions don’t always provide. Take the chance to gather in smaller groups to spend time with the peers that you wish to collaborate with. Cairns has no shortage of restaurants and bars that you might like to visit on this free evening.

As the Pullman is a short distance from CCC, guests staying at the Pullman will walk to the gala function.

AFG Next gala dinners have a reputation for being fabulous, and this year will be no exception. In 2024, you wholeheartedly embraced the gala dinner dress up theme. So, we’ve listened and will be giving you the opportunity to dress-up again, if you feel so inclined (though dressing up is optional).
It’s time to saddle up for the ride of your life as you enter the honky-tonk disco, where Texas and Vegas collide in a futuristic mashup of outback sparkle. Think sequins and guitars, cowboys and pop stars, bright lights and late nights, all coming together for a toe-tappin’, unforgettable party.
As part of the evening’s festivities, we will be recognising AFG’s best of the best brokers, when we present our national residential and commercial and asset finance broker awards.
Thank you to our incredible gala dinner hosts: Co-major sponsors ANZ, Bankwest, Commonwealth Bank and NAB

You will be given the opportunity to preselect your hotel via payment of the supplement fee, on registration. All pre-selections are on an on-request basis, and are not guaranteed until confirmed by TRIBE (the confirmation will take approximately two weeks).
Of course. When you register online, there will be an opportunity to extend your accommodation (with additional nights at your cost), you will receive an extension request email after you have completed your registration, you can let us know what additional dates you require, and our conference organiser TRIBE Events will provide you with a quote for your additional days. Extensions will be subject to availability.
The broker registration fee is highly subsidised and includes:
| Type | Details | Fee |
|---|---|---|
| CLOSED | ||
| Standard | $1,570 | |
| No Accommodation | Also applies to a second broker if room/twin sharing with the primary delegate colleague | $1,150 |
The ‘no accommodation’ ticket is for brokers who either do not require accommodation (i.e. you are Cairns based), or who wish to twin-share a room with their broker colleague (who is the primary delegate). This fee is for the second person sharing the room (where two brokers room share) and includes a second breakfast. The cost for two brokers twin-sharing a room will be calculated as follows:
| Ticket Type | Broker 1 (Primary Broker Delegate) | Broker 2 (Sharing Primary Broker Room) |
|---|---|---|
| CLOSED | CLOSED (includes hotel breakfast) | |
| Standard ticket | $1,570 | $1,150 (includes hotel breakfast) |
As part of your registration fee, AFG is taking care of the following once you arrive at your Cairns hotel: three nights’ accommodation with breakfasts, welcome function, two days of conferencing including lunches, and the closing gala dinner (with transfers). All you need to do is get yourself to Cairns in time for Tuesday’s welcome function at 7.30pm.
Delegates will take care of their own flight arrangements. Airport transfers are also at the arrangement and cost of the attendee.
The conference is open to all AFG brokers (principal/business owner or loan writer), and to AFG sponsors involved in the 2025 Broker Excellence Program. Due to venue capacity, registrations are capped for this conference.
Once we have received registrations from our brokers and sponsor partners, we will then open the second phase of registration to AFG Brokers’ support and administration staff (if we haven’t exceeded our capped numbers).
We would love for our brokers to bring their administration and support teams along, but we need to ensure that every broker is first given an opportunity to secure their place at the conference. If we still have places available after early bird closes, we will come back to you with an invitation to register additional support staff you’d like to bring along.
Partners can either purchase a full buy-in package or alternatively select individual components of the conference. Flights and airport transfer arrangements are not included (attendees make their own arrangements).
Full accompanying partner buy-in is $1050. This figure includes three nights’ accommodation (sharing primary delegate room) with three hotel breakfasts, conference session attendance, and attendance at the welcome function and closing gala dinner. If you instead prefer to select individual components of the program for your partner, the prices are as follows.
| Cost | Inclusions |
|---|---|
| Base buy-in $170 | Includes accommodation (sharing primary delegate room), with three hotel breakfasts |
| Add $225 to base buy-in | Supplement to attend conference sessions |
| Add $230 to base buy-in | Supplement to attend Tuesday’s welcome function |
| Add $450 to base buy-in | Supplement to attend Thursday’s closing gala dinner |
Please note: Fee payment will take place at the time of registration, and payment can be made by either credit card or debit card. Card surcharge fees will apply to credit and debit card payments, as follows: Visa, Mastercard, AMEX: 2.12% including GST.
For attendance at the full conference, 18 CPD points have been allocated to AFG Next by the MFAA and FBAA.
Post-conference, AFG will allocate CPD to broker’s Learn CPD profile. These will appear on your Suite 360 dashboard post event.
We understand that circumstances can change, and that you may need to cancel your registration or the registration for an accompanying person. Please note the following cancellation policy.
Conference sessions: Business smart casual
Welcome function: Smart casual
Name lanyards provided at registration must be worn at all sessions and evening events.
For broker delegates, we don’t offer the opportunity to select individual components of the program. The ticket price includes all elements of the program (whether the delegate chooses to attend all elements or not). Although, if you are local and don’t require accommodation, there is an option to choose a ticket that doesn’t include accommodation.
This year WA attendees only require 3 nights of accommodation (like all attendees), as there is a Qantas flight available that lands in Cairns in time to attend the conference opening function on Tuesday, 28 October. The welcome function commences at 7.30pm on Tuesday evening, and QF1886 (via Brisbane QF932) lands in Cairns at 16.50pm on Tuesday.
This event is being run by AFG, and we ask that as always, we all hold each other to account to act in a professional, honest, and fair manner. We also ask that you treat AFG staff, our suppliers and our hosts at the venues, with courtesy and respect. Any individual who displays inappropriate behaviour that does not meet community expectations will be asked to leave the event.
AFG may use photographs, audio, and/or video recordings of attendees at the event for purposes of promotion of this event or future events, publicity, and broker recruitment on behalf of AFG, via the Internet, print publications, and other media, including social media. Should an attendee NOT want to be photographed or recorded or have their name or biographical information used in connection with any such recording, they should remove themselves from areas in which photography and/or recording is taking place or notify the camera operator of that they do not agree to be photographed. Failure to do so may result in that attendee’s inclusion in a photograph or recording and will be treated as consent for AFG to utilise that photograph or recording accordingly.
